We're so happy to get you out on the water with BPY.
To charter one of our catamarans for the first time, you will need to submit a detailed sailing resume and undergo a check ride session with a BPY Captain to verify your qualifications. This is usually a 4 hour process depending on your experience and will cost $75/hour. During this session, you must demonstrate your ability to inspect and operate the vessel effectively. This includes checking safety equipment like PFDs and fire extinguishers, ensuring all vessel systems such as engine fluids and navigational instruments are in working order, and demonstrating competency in handling procedures like anchoring and emergency operations. Your mastery of these areas is crucial for a safe and successful charter experience.
