ASA 104 – 8:15 A.M
PARKING
Public lot on the southwest corner of Admiralty Way and Bali Way. Entrance to the lot is on Bali Way. Please purchase a day ticket and display it on your dashboard. Walk west along boats to our office.
Prior to 5-day Confidence Sailing Course (ASA 101 – ASA 103):
Please purchase and read the books “Sailing Made Easy” and “Coastal Cruising Made Easy” both by American Sailing Association (ASA). These books may be purchased from Blue Pacific Yachting, ASA.com, West Marine.com, Amazon.com, and other resources. Please read the books before the first class! Best to become familiar with the anatomy of a sailboat, the points of sail, and types of rigging prior to your first class as well.
Prior to 3-day Bareboat Chartering Course (ASA 104):
Please purchase and read the book “Bareboat Cruising Made Easy” by American Sailing. This book may be purchased from Blue Pacific Yachting, ASA.com, West Marine.com, Amazon.com, and other resources. Please read the book before the first class! This way you can enjoy more of the cruise to Catalina and not be reading to catch up.
ALL OTHER BLUE PACIFIC YACHTING CLASSES:
Please confirm with the Office Coordinator regarding course materials, provisioning and schedule.
Bedding & Linens:
These are not included in your ASA 104 class; however, they are available from Blue Pacific Yachting. Linen packages cost $75 per person and include a blanket, sheets, pillow, pillow case and towel.
Suggested Clothing:
Deck shoes with white soles and a warm jacket are essential year round. Casual comfortable sports clothing is recommended – layers are the way to go. Please pack all personal gear in a soft case or duffle bag, and remember that boats have very limited storage space.
No hard suitcases are permitted on the boats.
RECOMMENDED GEAR:
These items are highly recommended. They are not required for the classes, but will make your sailing experience more comfortable and/or interesting: flashlight(s), sailing gloves, sailing knife, Personal Flotation Device (PFD), hat, sunglasses and sun block, and cell phone.
Lunch on Daysail Training and on the 5 day CONFIDENCE SAILING COURSE, ASA 101-103:
You will need to provide your own food and drink for these sailing adventures. Once you leave the dock in the morning you will not return until approximately 4:30 PM. We recommend you avoid bringing foods with the potential to be messy and suggest sandwiches, fruit, soft drinks or water. You could bring something from home or purchase it in one of the many sandwich shops and restaurants in the area.
Provisions for the 3 day CONFIDENCE CRUISING COURSE, ASA 104.
As part of the course, you and your classmates will provision the boat prior to departure. The cost of the provisioning is included, except for one dinner on shore. For private classes, the provisioning is not included.
